What an exciting weekend!!!

Nine other girls and I left at 6:30 a.m. Saturday morning to head to Canton to go shopping. We arrived around 11:00 and shopped until 5:00. Then we headed to Uncle Julios to eat dinner. While we were there, my parents called and said Kim was having contractions every 3 minutes and was getting checked at the hospital. Around 10:00 I talked to my parents again and they were sending them home b/c she was only dilated to a 2. That was the last thing I heard so we all went to bed. Well, Cooper had other plans... on the way home, Kim's water broke, so they headed back up to the hospital and Cooper was born around 4:00 a.m. It's so funny b/c her situation was so much like mine with Morgan... we both went from a 5 to a 10 in an hour which is unusual with a first born.

Sunday we got up and ate lunch at The Cheesecake Factory and went shopping at a mall in Frisco. We tried to figure out a way to get me to Waxahachie to the hospital but just couldn't get it to work out. I didn't have my own car and I didn't want to inconvenience anyone. So, I may go up there on Friday and leave Saturday around lunch to get back for the game. I'm not sure, but I'm very ancy and can't wait to meet Cooper. Morgan may be more ancy than me... she has asked/ told me about 10 times this morning that she wants to "go see Bebe and Cooper in the hospital." Have a baby is such an exciting, special, and miraculous time!

Now, I'm just trying to get my house in order... bags put away and suitcases unloaded. Thanks Janet and Jocelyn for keeping the girls and Jordan and Ashley for keeping them last night (good birth control)! It was so fun to get away with a great group of girls but I sure was glad to see Jason, Morgan, and Kennedy.

Oh' and the game... we'll let's just say 66-7. Our tough games are coming up though, but we can do it!!!!!!!!!! One game at a time, lots of focus, determination, hard work, and staying humble... we are so blessed to be at ACU!

ABILENE – Abilene Christian University running back Bernard Scott accounted for 301 yards of total offense and four touchdowns and Billy Malone threw for 357 yards and five touchdowns Saturday night as the fourth-ranked Wildcats hammered East Central, 66-7, in a Lone Star Conference crossover game at Shotwell Stadium.The win pushes the Wildcats to 5-0 overall and 4-0 in the LSC, while the Tigers fall to 1-5 overall and 1-4 in the LSC. ACU will return to action next Saturday at 7 p.m. when it hosts Angelo State in an LSC South Division contest.Scott had a career-high 173 receiving yards and three touchdown catches on seven receptions, and he ran for 128 yards and one score on 17 carries. He had the first touchdown of the game on a 60-yard run with 8:11 left in the first quarter. He also had touchdown receptions of 23, 19 and 53 yards.Malone continued his impressive season with his five-touchdown performance. Besides his three touchdown passes to Scott, he hit Edmund Gates with a 66-yard touchdown pass on the first play of the third quarter and then connected with Gates later in the third quarter on a 22-yard touchdown strike.ACU finished with 579 yards of total offense (212 rushing) and 383 yards in the air. The Wildcat defense, meanwhile, limited the Tigers to just 179 yards of offense and came up with four sacks, three interceptions and three fumble recoveries.

The ACU defense scored for the fourth straight game (and sixth time this season) when Richard Havins recovered a fumbled punt snap in the end zone in the second quarter.After being forced to punt on their first series of the game, the Wildcats were in total control, scoring on their next four drives in the first half to take a 31-7 lead into the halftime break. One of the ACU defense’s takeaways almost led to another first-half touchdown for Scott.Tony Harp intercepted a pass by East Central quarterback (and former Abilene High standout) Marcus Johnson at the ACU goal line with just seconds left in the first half. Harp returned the ball to the ACU 40-yard line before going out of bounds with four seconds left to give the Wildcats a chance at another score before the end of the half.With no time left on the clock, Scott took a swing pass from Malone, broke a couple of tackles and scooted toward the middle of the field. As he crossed the ECU 40-yard line he cut to the left and began moving toward the end zone for what would have been an improbable 60-yard touchdown catch. Instead, he was cut down at the ECU 9-yard line by Tyler Clay to keep the Tiger deficit at 31-7 at the half.The Wildcats, though, went for the throat on the first play of the third quarter when Malone hit Gates from 66 yards out to make it 38-7. The play marked the third straight game the Wildcats have scored a touchdown on their first play of the third quarter. Two weeks ago at Southeastern Oklahoma State, Scott scored on an 80-yard run and last week at Eastern New Mexico, Malone and Gates hooked up for a 74-yard touchdown pass on the Wildcats’ first play of the third quarter.After Malone hit Gates with a 22-yard scoring strike with 7:20 left in the third quarter to make it 45-7, he and Scott hooked up again on a screen pass, this one covering 53 yards to make it 52-7 with two minutes left in the third quarter.Chancy Campbell (five-yard run) and Patrick Washington (four-yard run) closed out the scoring for the Wildcats, who have now scored at least 50 points 10 times in their last 15 games.The Tigers turned the ball over six times in the game and the Wildcats turned those six takeaways into 31 points. For the season, ACU has 19 takeaways (against just six turnovers) and has scored 93 points off of those turnovers.
