Several have asked for the tutu instructions. Meredith is the brains behind it all, but I'll give it a shot. To make 1 skirt you will need:
2 rolls of tulle (25 yards, 6" across) They sell this at Hobby Lobby for $1.99 to $3.99 per roll
elastic
Directions:
1. Sow the elastic together so it fits around her waist. Meredith did this for us with her sewing machine, but you could do it by hand too.
2. Cut the tulle into the pieces for the skirt. I made mine 30". Everyone else made theirs 33".
3. Fold the 30"-33" sheets that you just cut in half (hamburger... that's what I said when I taught).
4. Fold the sheet around the elastic band and pull the bottom (where the ends are free) through the part that is folded over. Does that make sense? Pull it tight (into a knot) around the elastic waist.
5. Repeat step 4 until the entire elastic waist is covered.
So simple! Let me know if you have any questions and post pictures of yours, please! We all thought they would make great Christmas presents for all of those little princesses in our lives!
