Those that know me know I love football and I blog about it a lot during the season. Well football has officially started. Today, Jason started camp. It will last two weeks and he will be gone before we get up and home after we go to bed! Ugh... I forget about this every year. I do love football, but I also love my husband at home in the evenings! I even started running this week... every night at 8:00 while Jason does baths. I've been so good... 3 days in a row, but I don't know what I'm going to do the next two weeks. I have a eight unwanted pregnancy pounds left and I haven't lost a pound since Kennedy was 2 weeks old, so I know I'm going to have to exercise to get them off. I thought about pushing Kennedy in the jogging stroller and Morgan could bicycle by me... it's just so hot for K-Rhee (that's Kennedy's nick name) right now and she's usually in bed by 8:00 !
Enough of my vent... back to football! Our first game is against NW Missouri, who has played in the national championship game the last few years. Jason's Mom, Stepdad, and I got plane tickets to MO. We're flying out of Dallas. Kim and Scott are keeping the girls... it will be good preparation for Cooper! We'll only be gone a little over 24 hours.
Wish us luck and pray for good health. Also, the coaches are taking the ENTIRE team to Promise Keepers http://www.promisekeepers.org/news/072808/football-team-joins-pks-manhood-movement . Please take the time to read the article... it makes me cry every time I read it. The coaches go every year and usually take a few kids but Coach Collums has headed up the effort to make sure the entire team gets to go. It definitely has the potential to change some of these kids lives. We always talk about mission work in other countries but there's mission work to be done right here!!!!

YEAH! for football season. I am the same way, I LOVE football, college, high school, the NFL... it doesnt matter! Hopefully we will make it to ACU homecoming this year :) Have fun in MO. Bring on the salsa, chips, and queso and some good football :)
Are we ready for some FOOTBALL!!!!
Jason is a wonderful coach and a witness to many young people and he loves his job; however it wouldn't be possible without your love and support, Whitney. Thanks for being his biggest fan and cheerleader and now he has 2 more cheerleaders to add to his squad!
We are looking forward to the NW Missouri game and the entire season. Go ACU Wildcats!!!
Love, Gran Jan
Glad to see I am not the only one excited football and LONELY for my hubby! We need to do lunch or an early dinner when I am in Abilene for the ASU vs. ACU game!
Maybe I should run with you. I ran a while back and just about killed myself!
I love football season too. Not so much the game though, just the weather, and the sounds of the bands, and the kids playing, and people yelling!! THAT is so much fun!!
I hate that you will be single parenting it for a while. Sounds like tax season around my house.
Can't wait to see some pictures of all your adventures on the blog!
That article is pretty impressive. I can see where jason would fit in on a staff like that. I know it takes a lot of sacrifice from you and the girls.
I know Scott is excited about football and I am sure we will be coming to several games! Can't wait until next weekend!
